Mirror Portrait – 365Project – Day 67

Today I did everything opposite from what I usually do. In the end, I came up with a mirror portrait of myself.

I took a pic of myself in a mirror, yeah. Which I rarely do.

I spiced up the lights with some vivid color gels, red and blue to be exact. Why not, it’s so gloomy outside and this pic really needed it 😉 I used wide open aperture (f1.4) to soften up the image as much as possible. Then I imported the photo in Lightroom and reduced the contrast and clarity a bit to preserve the tonal range. Oh yeah, also flipped the image horizontally! Light and camera setup is down below, along with the BTS photo!

Camera and light settings:

  • Canon 600D @ 1/200 ISO 100
  • Canon EF 50mm f1.4 @ f1.4
  • Three Yongnuo YN-560III Speedlites (details in the pic below)
  • Triggered by Yongnuo YN560-TX manual flash controller
