Skateboarding in Zagreb – 365Project – Day 69

I have a friend who’s into skateboarding since long time ago. We were hanging out last night in the western part of the city, where I took couple of pics.

Since my wide angle lens is mad slow (f4.5) I had to lower the shutter speed and bump up the ISO all the way to 1600. That let a lot of ambient light fall onto camera’s sensor so the flashes I used didn’t have to use much power. Actually they were both gelled 1/2 CTO and shot at 1/16 power. Gelling the flashes turned out to be pretty much useless, cos I later decided to remove saturation from the image (almost) completely. If you’re interested in more details about camera settings and lighting setup, you may want to check the BTS photo below!

Camera and light settings:

  • Canon 600D @ 1/50 ISO 1600
  • Canon EF-S 10-18mm @ f4.5
  • Two Yongnuo YN-560III Speedlites (details in the pic below)
  • Triggered by Yongnuo YN560-TX manual flash controller
