Craft brewery is a trend that’s getting very popular in Croatia these days. We had an opportunity to taste some delicious beers and take pics for Visibaba brewery.

Pre-production consisted of finding the props (old cameras, lemons, sunglasses, etc..), setting up the lights and making condensation on bottles. We used three lights altogether,  two YN-560III speedlites shot at full power, one at each side. One speedlite was used to light the background. The ones on the sides were shot through softboxes AND scrims, in order to get a nicer, gradient reflections on the bottles. Full power was needed to provide enough light, since the aperture was stopped down at f9.0. Another little touch that was added was condensation. A simple recipe was used, small amount of glycerine was added to water and sprayed on the bottle.

Shooting was fairly straightforward. Camera was sitting on tripod most of the time, except for couple of shots. We used canned air to make some crazy beer foam in the glass to take images of it.

Postproduction was pretty simple. Adjusted contrasts and colors a bit for majority of the photos, except the one on the top of this post where two images were combined into one.
